Faith is when I feel that a certain claim is the truth. When a child believes they can, they do not hesitate to try and experiment.

Want to test this? Let’s learn from successes. What was your last success? Go back in time, to the actions you took to make it succeed, and then a little further back to the feeling and emotion that drove you to take action. And just a little further back to the thoughts you had about the task.

Surely there were positive thoughts about the outcome. Surely you thought to yourself that you could, you believed and imagined it happening. You felt the success even before it saw the light of day. And when you reached the stage of action, there was no turning back. Success was just waiting for the inevitable meeting with you.

We want to raise successful children. Children who dare and try, who fall and get back up. Who strengthen their muscles by trying again.

Our parental responsibility is to believe in them and their ability to succeed even before they believe in themselves.

Allow them to try, fall, and rise again. Allow them to fail, allow them to face "no" and "not now."

We will believe that they are strong enough to cope. We will give them tools, teach them how, support and embrace them when it’s hard, love them even when they don’t succeed, encourage and praise them when they do succeed. And most importantly, we will remind them of the path... the one that always begins with them believing in themselves.
