So, what's your story?

Once… when I was a child… I wanted to be a teacher.
That was the dream. The only one, by the way...
A few weeks ago, I attended a lecture about fulfilling dreams. One of the things that came up was the idea of childhood dreams and how they take on meaning in the place we find ourselves today.
So, a teacher? Working with children? Me too (after-school program).
A teacher working with parents, advising and guiding them? Me too... (parent counseling and guidance).
So yes... it’s not exactly the same... but it’s my adaptation of my childhood dream. No wonder I love what I do when I’m doing exactly what I dreamed of doing since I was a child.
Book Week was always a celebration for me. By the age of 5, I already knew how to read, and I fell in love with reading back then...
A bookworm! A subscription for 5 books at the municipal library (so it would last the whole week).
I read books at night with a flashlight under the blanket so as not to wake my sister, who shared a room with me (yes... most kids today aren’t used to sharing a room...).
This year, I chose to combine Book Week with the need to shout out the dream... I asked the children in the after-school program to draw themselves on a piece of paper, with a pencil.
And to write on the paper what they want to be when they grow up.
I took pictures, designed them, and sent them to the amazing Natali, who collaborated with me and printed them on book bags.
Now the dream is written, black on the book bag.
Because in the end... we write our own story.
To mark Book Week, I asked the children to draw themselves and write what they want to do when they grow up. Every story begins with a dream, a goal, an aspiration for fulfillment. I designed their story and printed it on book bags. With the genuine hope that they’ll use them to borrow books, and in one way or another, if the dream is written, they’ll find a way to fulfill it ❤.
So, what’s your story???
Happy Book Week 😊
